THAT BOASTER FROM EMORY...A couple of weeks ago, and at the peak of the Ebola Virus invasion into Nigeria, a loquacious and breezy- brained medical doctor from Emory University Medical School was basking in the euphoria of having successfully treated about two doctors infected with the virus from one of the countries in West Africa ( not Nigeria ). He had stopped short of calling our medical facilities shanties and ghetto standard with little or no modern equipment to counter an epidemic like Ebola. I almost wept for my country because I knew that he was close to the truth. I was downcast and wordless. You can now imagine the joy and upsurge of patriotic ecstasy that filled my being when news of some Ebola patients recovery got to me. I suddenly felt a righteous indignation against that boastful doctor from Emory and I was proud again to be a Nigerian. As it stands today, Nigeria is the only country next to the United States of America, that has tackled the Ebola virus with a great degree of Success. It therefore goes to prove that with a little encouragement from the relevant quarters and with purposeful leadership, the Nigerian Health Sector can rule the world, and that includes Emory...God bless Nigeria.
