THE 1873 NETWORK - CONVERSATIONS maitiroenyu > Mutumwa Mawere • 6 hours ago I find it rather difficult to believe that you do not know the role of the Political God Fathers in the success of some if not all of our esteemed Entrepreneurs. It is well documented that Strive Masiyiwa had Joshua Nkomo on his side, he even had Eddison Zvobgo tipping him about the pending changes to legislation.Unfortunately like in any dodgy deals, the God Fathers never put it down on paper that they are actually the God Father do you think that Mnangagwa is so naive to come out and say Yes I made it possible for Mutumwa Mawere to succeed in consummating the deal ? Or would he come out and say I made it possible for John Mushayavanhu to take over the BP deal from Masawara ? the list is endless of known Munangagwa supported deals. Like God Fathers they remain in the shadows... and when you screw them up they will use their muscle to make an example of you. In your case the law through Chinamasa was used to make your life miserable.. In this case we may assume that you get the link between Chinamasa and Mnangagwa... Where supply and demand is not possible the God Fathers make it possible for demand to be created, for example Green Fuel invested millions in a product and through influence pushed for mandatory blending of fuel. Now imagine if Billie stops paying fees to God Fathers ? do you think he will have a market for this product let alone the land to grow the sugar cane ? And in the Billie story we all know there is a God Father... Mutumwa it is difficult to separate your success from the God Father... while you have documentary proof of ownership and transactions, there is still the unwritten, unspoken word from the God Father... As long as we can not document that part of the story, you will try to explain yourself and still the majority will not understand you. Or you could be like Strive Masiyiwa who was very clear about the involvement of God Fathers in his quest to get a License and it is all in the open and people are left with no questions about the how... people are able to separate the input of the God Father .. .and if the God Father was to try and be nasty.. the public will know why and it would not work.... 1 △ ▽ •Reply•Share › Avatar Mutumwa Mawere > maitiroenyu • 2 hours ago Thanks Mautiroenyu. You state that: I find it rather difficult to believe that you do not know the role of the Political God Fathers in the success of some if not all of our esteemed Entrepreneurs, but fail to provide specific details on how the so-called God-father could have played a role in the sale and purchase of a private asset. It does not help to speculate when facts are available. The truth will be there so there is no need to create it. It is fatal, therefore, to debate in the abstract. The fact that in your mind you are unable to believe that in business, the customer does not need the persuasion of Godfather to transact should not be used as an excuse to create that which does not make any sense. The success of any business requires value exchange. I guess in your world a powerful person, can, for instance invoice for freely available air in the expectation that people will be willing to pay for the air for fear of the so-called God-father. In our world if there is no input there will be no output. You then state that: It is well documented that Strive Masiyiwa had Joshua Nkomo on his side, he even had Eddison Zvobgo tipping him about the pending changes to legislation, but obviously I cannot speak for Strive for he alone can speak to his experiences. What cannot be denied is that Strive is a hard worker and has proved beyond doubt that he thought Econet has a better understanding of the market system and its requirements. I do not believe that Econet would have succeeded without delivering the promise of data and voice connection as well as a host of other value added services. It may very well be the case that Strive was assisted by various state actors in the process of democratising the mobile phone network space but it would be incorrect that the millions of customers that daily use the Econet platform do so because of the involvement of so-called political God-father. Let us learn to give credit where it is due. It is the contribution of thousands of Econet workers that makes it possible for the company to deliver the promise. I am sure what you mean when you say that the late VP Joshua Nkomo was on Strives side. I should like to believe that he was on the side of justice, equity and fairness. You state that the late Dr Zvobgo was tipping Strive with valuable information. I should like to believe that the late Dr Zvobgo was doing what was expected of him in the context of the true purpose of the government One cannot claim that were it not for the support of state actors in the process of Econet obtaining the license, the company would not have succeeded. It is with respect to the purported link between business success that we should focus on. If your hypothesis is correct that a causal link exists between business success and the role of the so-called political God-father is valid, then one would expect Netone, whose God-father should be President Mugabe as a state owned company, and Telecel would be bigger than Econet yet in reality Econet is bigger than the two networks combined. You the proceed to state as fact that: Unfortunately like in any dodgy deals, the God Fathers never put it down on paper that they are actually the God Father do you think that Mnangagwa is so naive to come out and say Yes I made it possible for Mutumwa Mawere to succeed in consummating the deal? and is doing imply corruption. Assuming your assessment is correct you are then compelled to explain the alleged dodgy aspects of the deal. The failure to do cannot be accidental. The company, SMM, was wholly owned by a British listed company and what you are suggesting is that seller was involved in a dodgy deal. Why would the seller need Mnangagwa in a deal to dispose of its shareholding in a private company. You will recall that this was prior to the introduction of the indigenisation laws and therefore no pressure existed for the seller to sell. Factual evidence is not provided by you to confirm Mnangagwas value to the seller. It may be the case that in the case of tenders, the intervention of state actors may be necessary and beneficial but the acquisition of SMM was not a tender by any imagination. You also state as fact that: Or would he come out and say I made it possible for John Mushayavanhu to take over the BP deal from Masawara ? without providing details of Mnangagwas alleged role. I must confess that I am nit privy to the deal you make reference to but it does not appear that you are making an allegation that Mnangagwa did play a role in the financing of the deal in which case one would be entitled to enquire into the sources of funds as he is a state actor. You then also state as fact that this is one of endless of known Munangagwa supported deals suggesting that you are in possession of the relevant facts. If this is the case, please disclose the facts. Even Mnangagwa has declared his zero tolerance for corruption and this should give you an opportunity to expose him yet it would appear that you wish to engage in speculation. You state as true and fact that: Like God Fathers they remain in the shadows... and when you screw them up they will use their muscle to make an example of you, and is doing make serious allegations against Mnangagwa. You make the point without any regard to Mnangagwas constitutional rights thar he operates in the shadows and that the actions taken on behalf of the government against SMM was in pursuit of Mnangagwas personal interests. This is quite serious and damming. You also state that: In your case the law through Chinamasa was used to make your life miserable, and if this can be collaborated with facts that this is the case then surely both Chinamasa and Mnangagwa should be fired as proposed by Zhuwao. You then also state as true and fact as follows: In this case we may assume that you get the link between Chinamasa and Mnangagwa... but you should appreciate that we cannot rely on assumptions. Please clarify the link. You tgen state as follows: Where supply and demand is not possible the God Fathers make it possible for demand to be created, for example Green Fuel invested millions in a product and through influence pushed for mandatory blending of fuel, but you must accept that even in the case of Green Fuel the performance risk lies with the producer for no God-father can cause fuel to be produced. The blending ratio only works when the fuel is produced. However, if floods intervene ad is the current case, the blending ratio is of no assistance. With respect to asbestos I am not sure in what context is the narrative relevant especially when regard is had to the fact that 95% of the output was exported. How can a Zimbabwean so-called God-father convince external customers to buy? Please indicate in what context thus is relevant. You then state as follows: Now imagine if Billie stops paying fees to God Fathers? do you think he will have a market for this product let alone the land to grow the sugar cane ? And in the Billie story we all know there is a God Father... but I am not aware of the facts and circumstances of Billys business affairs to comment. However, what is clear is that you make broad and bold allegations obviously oblivious of the injury caused on the parties involved. I cannot imagine what are asking me to imagine but what I do know is that Billy works hard for his money and while it may suit you to make wild allegations against him what I do know is that without ethanol there will be blending and consequently no profits. You then state as follows: Mutumwa it is difficult to separate your success from the God Father... while you have documentary proof of ownership and transactions, there is still the unwritten, unspoken word from the God Father... As long as we can not document that part of the story, you will try to explain yourself and still the majority will not understand you, without having any regard for the facts. If your allegation is that it is difficult to separate my business success with Mnangagwa, you have an obligation to proof your allegations. You state as follows: you could be like Strive Masiyiwa who was very clear about the involvement of God Fathers in his quest to get a License and it is all in the open and people are left with no questions about the how... people are able to separate the input of the God Father .. .and if the God Father was to try and be nasty.. the public will know why and it would not work.... but the wild allegations require to be supported by facts. What I implore on you as I have attempted to do with Zhuwao to desist from the practice of manufacturing facts to suit predetermined conclusions. If you have knowledge of facts by all means use them to support your hypotheses. In this case, you appear to fall into the Zhuwao trap by trying to connect dots that are not connectable Mnangagwa and Chihuri have called on the public to brings facts that show abuse of state power. If you have evidence that the VP operates like a mafia God-father please lets us work together to expose this. You have chosen SMM as a company whose affairs were tainted by political connections. I have no doubt that you have evidence in your possession to support this. What I do know is that the company was placed under the control of a state appointed Administrator without the involvement of the courts. I am not sure what role Mnangagwa played in the demise of the company but it is common cause that Chinamasa was the face of the attack. It would appear that you have information of the Mnangagwa-Chinamasa link. This is the aspect that needs to be investigated because if true then the loss of jobs can at least be connected to a conspiracy. △ ▽ •Edit•Reply•Share ›
