THE 2014 P.O.E.T AWARDS / LEGENDS HONORS WAS A NIGHT THAT WILL FOREVER GO DOWN IN CHICAGO MUSIC & ARTS HISTORY. A sold out, standing room only crowd witnessed an incredible historical night. The P.O.E.T organization had one its most successful years in 2014. From feeding over 300 homeless, to visiting shelters, mentoring H.S. students, to awarding over $1000 in scholarships, to raising hundreds of dollars in burial cost for victims of violence, the P.O.E.T organization has made a difference in 2014. Not only did P.O.E.T serve the community this year, P.O.E.T and its members toured the country and crossed international waters giving the world a look at the greatness of its gift. P.O.E.T sold out concerts, performing in front of thousands all throughout the year. In addition, P.O.E.T created new published authors with the release of the P.O.E.T ANTHOLOGY III, Changing The World, One Heart, One Mind, One Verse At A Time, which is also their motto. The creator and founder of P.O.E.T, King Of Poetry Blaq Ice, also created and co-founded the Legends of Chicago Hip Hop who were also honored with the LEGENDS HONORS. These Chicago Legends are the individuals who established Hip Hop in the city of Chicago, many home were never recognized or given the credit for laying the foundation. The LEGENDS HONORS was 30 years over due.
