THE ADEQUATE PREPARATION FOR THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST PART-13B HEAVENLY MINDED (CONTINUATION) Take heart that your salvation is sure, and live each day for CHRIST. Our LORD gives us power to live for HIM now and HE gives us hope for the future especially during HIS second coming. To adequately prepare ourselves for the second coming of our LORD is to always think about the good things LORD JESUS is making ready for us in HEAVEN. We must not allow the thoughts of anything of the world to overshadow or overwhelm the thoughts of HEAVEN in our hearts. LORD JESUS teaches us how to be Heavenly minded in Matthew 6vs19-21 by saying Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. FOR WHERE YOUR TREASURE IS, THERE YOUR HEART WILL BE ALSO. What we can gain from our LORDS teaching is that, we should form the habit of spending more of our resources on the things of GOD, and the things that have to do with HEAVEN, so that our hearts will always think about GOD and HEAVEN. Laying up treasures in HEAVEN is not limited to tithing, but accomplished by ALL ACTS OF OBEDIENCE TO GOD. By regularly winning souls for LORD JESUS CHRIST; by regularly minister to the needs of the poor and needy financially, emotionally, spiritually and physically. We should engage in any good work, service or ministry in the name of our LORD JESUS CHRIST through the help of the HOLY SPIRIT. We should make good use of all our spiritual gifts and talents by working diligently for the furtherance of the GOSPEL and expansion of GODS KINGDOM on earth. We are to be occupied with the BUSINESS of GOD till our LORD JESUS CHRIST comes. There is a sense in which giving our money to GODS WORK is like INVESTING IN HEAVEN. But our intention should be to seek the fulfillment of GODS purposes in all we do, not merely what we do with our money. Without being Heavenly minded or Rapture-conscious, no one can go with CHRIST when HE comes for the saints.
