THE AFRICAN AMERICAN DELI MA - RESISTANCE IS FUTILE, YOU SHALL BE ASSIMILATED. My wife asked me WHY ARE YOU WASTING YOUR TIME, AGAIN. You see she has become pessimistic concerning the ability to rise a specter of decent within the African American Community. Her pessimism is well deserved, once one considers the battles we went through to raise interest. African American, especially, has become so educated into the premiss that they are powerless to effect and affect change, that immediately they condition themselves to see the impossibilities or improbabilities before they allow themselves to think what is possible and probable. I dont like racial comparisons, but in the instant matter I am going to employ and deploy a comparison between the African American Community and the Caucasian Community, where it concerns community action. In the Caucasian community any perceived threat to community safety and cohesiveness there is an immediate gathering of resources - concerned citizens - to tackle a threat. The city hall, when hearings are held are packed with those voicing their opposition too and consent of. The Caucasian Community forms a consensus, develops a committee, targets a strategy and methodology and carry through. This is essentially the same in the Asia Communities and other more highly evolved social structures. Whereas, In the African American Community no parallels can be drawn. This has not always been true, but in the 21 century this holds true to a greater extent then in past decades of historical note. What has changed, I conjecture, is our sense of community. We predominately see ourselves as individuals rather then an evolved social structure. We dont view a social problem as a community problem, having macro social implications. As long as the paper isnt in my yard; it isnt my concern. In other words we dont see the macro or overall impact of litter. Just as we dont see the macro effect of crime in the community as an impact on the property values and much wider social values impact as tearing at the very social fabric in which I { we } must live as social animals. We only see it from our individual perspective. This is not the views or conduct of a highly evolved society, but one throes of social disorder, chaos and deterioration. This deterioration is not only socioeconomic because, a health mind can not exist in an unhealthy environment. As certainly as the environment is unhealthy the mind is exponentially unhealthy. How can a community, of persons, live in an environment with such social toxicity and be of the opinion that they are socially well adjusted. How can a society live in an environment where trash lays on the ground from one day to the next be of the opinion that they [ he/she ] are of the same social equality as a community that doesnt? He can a community live in a threat, that is so pronounced, in the African American Community and be of the opinion that they are of the same or equal status as one that doesnt? Such a community is either Socially Inferior or Socially Inadequate. A society or culture is judge by their environment and the means by which they develop that environment. A highly evolved culture has a highly evolved community that reflects that standard of evolution. A king can live in a cave and that cave will reflect the level of evolution, whereas a pauper could live in a mansion and that mansion shall reflect the level of social revolution. As the old adage goes: One can remove a monkey from the jungle, but never the jungle from the monkey . The present conditions, in the African American Community, has to do with evolution rather than economics. Economics is a monetary rather then social para dim. Personally, I have been to some of the poorest areas in the United States as well as abroad, and I have witness this too be true. That Poverty is a state of mind, not a state of being. That Poverty isnt what people are but rather what people are willing to do. That Poverty in an evolved society does not determine their mental or environmental purity. I have also learned that what does determine rather a community are a decedent race is the mental, social and cultural outlook on life. The poorest communities I have visited, that has these in tact are not in poverty, and their environment reflects it, they are socially evolved spiritually alive, vibrant and their communities reflect this vibrancy. Unfortunately, I can find no faulty with the Caucasian Community, as many of the Black Racist proclaim, or attribute this De-evolution to racism or that of economics of poverty, as much as a spiritual poverty within the social fabric. Here is why. In retrospect; I grew up in one of the most impoverished ares in Rochester New York, Catherine Street, a stone throw from one of the most notorious housing complexes in the united States - Handover Projects - on Baden Street. Where the children were so numerous, that grass would not grow. That when it rained and the sun came out one could smell Urine, so strong that it chocked you. Where Rats out numbered the residents and the basic assistance as for food was government Surplus and a child had to wear one pair of sneakers for years, wore their good clothing to school and returned home to wear rags. But the community was a community and the children had hope, they were not broken. Drug dealers were not as numerous,but they existed without violence. Gambling houses were numerous, liquor houses plentiful and the occasional random shooting was rare. The community kept these ventures from public view and any violation would be met with staunch structural resistance. We were poor but not broken, impoverished, but prideful. There was a sense of community rather than a sense of Me against the World and the community be damned. We have certainly become Social Inferiors to the rest of Social norms. It is a fact that I am not ready to assume, but it is a fact, rather I am willing to assume it or not. It is a truth of our current culture rather I am willing to acknowledge that truth or not. We have become a social order of NIGGERS, rather then few or the many are willing to consent or descent from the truth. Individually it does not matter our value in a social framework, because collectively we are as the world sees us; we are what our environment infers OF US.
