THE AGA KHAN UNVERSITY INTERNAL VACANCY RESEARCH ASSISTANTS The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) Workplace Wellness Programme in the platform of Aga Khan University (AKU) is recruiting Research Assistants to assist in data collection during a follow-up Wellness Knowledge, Attitude and Practice (KAP) survey in AKDN agencies in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Mozambique. The survey is intended to establish follow up information on Wellness knowledge, attitudes and practices (KAP) of AKDN employees in the region. The survey will ensure that Wellness strategies in the workplace respond to the needs of the employees and the company. The Aga Khan University would like to recruit Research Assistants to assist in carrying out the above survey which is expected to take a period of two weeks and you are encouraged to inform anyone who qualifies to apply. Research Methodology Survey Monkey tool and hard copy questionnaires will be used to collect data. The survey participants (employees of AKDN agencies) will be selected through random sampling. Research Assistants will be recruited to conduct research in their own countries. The Research Assistants will undertake the following: Attend a one day training Deliver the survey instruments to the respondents with minimal guidance Inform respondents on ensuring completeness of the responses to each question in the tool Review completed survey instruments for completeness and legibility Monitor the progress of the study by keeping in touch with the respondents to obtain research-related data Ensure security and data confidentiality Respond to any question which may arise from the respondents Assist in any other research related activities (e.g. respondent contact information, clarifications, etc) Deliver the completed questionnaires to the AKDN Workplace Wellness Programme office Enter information on hard copy questionnaires into the survey monkey tool Write a report on the exercise Skills, Knowledge & Experience Successful completion of secondary school education (KCSE) Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively Demonstrated ability to plan and co-ordinate projects Experience in data handling and record keeping are added advantages Must be willing to learn the basic concepts of Survey Monkey tool Good written and spoken English Skills in interacting with the public and skills in interviewing techniques are essential. Ability to work independently.
