THE ANC REMAINS PRINCIPLED & FORMIDABLE As ANC members and - TopicsExpress

THE ANC REMAINS PRINCIPLED & FORMIDABLE As ANC members and public in general we should take pride and also congratulate our movement for the submission to the IEC of all 19 lists, nine for provincial legislature, nine for province to national and one National Assembly before the Wednesday deadline. The National Assembly just consists of 400 members. Half the members are elected from the national list and the remaining 200 from the nine provincial to national lists, hence not all of us could have been on the list therefore we all should welcome, embrace and congradulate the Cadres chosen by the movement to represent our people. On my observation of all the lists our leadership did all that is possibly can to deliver what I call a balanced list, of course people will differ in terms of views over particular names, but at the same time such people must note various organizational principles and of our democratic state. 1. The notion of Presumption of innocence until proven guilty which is one important principle in our criminal justice system that we should continue to observe and respect while at the same time we must again highlight that in our 2014 Election Manifesto - under Fight Crime and Corruption (the ANC says it require ANC members /ANC public representative found guilty before the court of law to step down from any leadership positions in the ANC, Government and Society...). Therefore a very progressive balancing act by our leadership... 2. Again the principle of continuity and change is evident in all the lists, which is the same principle that defined the ANC leadership we elected at Mangaung, where we said change without continuity is to be self destructive. This type of principle is key because it make sure that we are not collapsing government but instead we are able to build from the previous leadership foundation while bringing in Cadres with new energy and fresh ideas. 3. The other important notable aspect is how we continue to mix generations of our movement (not the narrow defined Generational Mix) within our leadership positions , from all 19 list we see leaders that lead in various epochs of our revolution And also who lead in various class struggles in our revolution. But I must also say that as a product of the ANCYL myself it is pleasing to see how the ANC continues to live and breathe the principle that the ANCYL is a preparatory school of the ANC with this we should pride ourselves with how former and current leaders of the ANCYL have been featured in the list for an example on the National lists Cdes Gigaba #3, Mbalula #6, Nathi Mthethwa #12, Buti Manamela #28, Pule Mabe #53, Tandi Tobias #56, Mdu Mañana #61, Mlungisi Lulu Johnson #83, Mzwandile Masina #109, Andile Lungisa #147, Ayanda Matiti #161, Ronald Lamola #175. And in my province KZN, Cdes Mthandeni Dlungwana, Nhlakanipho Ntombela, Sboniso Duma, Ntombikayise Sibhidla-Saphetha, Nomagugu Simela-Zulu and others and while we congratulate them we also bestow our trust that as tried tested young revolutionaries of our movement they will continue to do us proud. 4. Lastly Mangaung 2012 Conference gathered and resolved on a principle of Unity and Cohesion for which the latest UMRABULO no.39 is also themed (Unity & Cohesion), this further affirms that the ANC is really a self correcting organization against what the doomsayers say that we are self distructing on this note we should welcome the inclusion of many Cadres who once held views that were defined contrary or otherwise due to circumstances of those particular times , amongst them include Cdes Tito Mboweni #41, Cassel Mathale #81, Mcebisi Sikwatsha #95, Charles Nqakula #127. We salute the attitude of our leadership to build on the successes of our past experiences while unifying the movement at the same time, this further serves as a manifestation that discipline is sacrosanct and with it comes recognition of being take serious and valued as a Cadre who can make a meaningful contribution. 5. As I conclude we must further appreciate the incorporation of a Gender balance where over 50% of our list are tried and tested women on our movement Cde Naledi Pandor as #4 on the national list. On my conclusion these and other principles should continue to tell everyone that the ANC is a solid organization founded and still grounded on principles, values and charector who remain as moral compass of our movement but not hatred, anger ,greed and hallucinations like ontabakayikhonjwa. Together we move South Africa - VOTE ANC 07 MAY 2014
