THE ARE AND WERE OF HEALING HEALING... Heres a topic that can create an argumentative atmosphere in a Heartbeat. Before I write anything further, look at Isaiah 53:5... But he WAS Wounded for our transgressions, he WAS Bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace WAS Upon him; and WITH HIS stripes we ARE HEALED. Now... Thats the Old Testament, with the Prophet Isaiah speaking under the Direction of the HOLY SPIRIT! -- But, did you notice that everything he says is in the Past AND Present Tense? Closing this Verse with the GOD Prescribed Fact that We ARE HEALED! Now, look at I Peter 2:24... Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye WERE HEALED. And so we have the Prophet Isaiah speaking in the OLD Testament that We ARE HEALED... and, Peter, in the NEW Testament saying that We WERE HEALED... Hold THAT Thought and let me give you Another... A Certain Preacher once made This Statement... If GOD were going to Make You Sick, HE would have to, FIRST, become a Thief... because there IS NO SICKNESS IN HEAVEN... Therefore HED have to Take It from Somewhere Else, BEFORE HE could Give It to you! The word HEALED in Isaiah, is defined in the Hebrew as... To Mend (by stitching)... To Cure, Repair and Thoroughly Make Whole. HEALED from I Peter is defined in the Greek as... To Cure and Make Whole. So... The GOOD NEWS IS... GOD is NOT Making You Sick... and, do you know How I Know This? Because of what JESUS Says in John 10:10... The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Stop Blaming GOD for your sickness! And, Stop using the Lingering of your sickness to explain how It Must Be GODS WILL... INSTEAD - See sickness for What It IS - a Plot and Ploy of the devil, to Steal from you... Kill you... and, ultimately... Destroy you. DONT FALL FOR IT! Even if your symptoms DO Linger, rather than giving the devil Glory by constantly complaining and Blaming GOD -- GIVE GOD THE GLORY for the TRUTH OF HIS WORD! One Final Thought: If We ARE HEALED (and We ARE)... and, If We WERE HEALED (and We WERE)... Then, WE IS HEALED!!! I know thats not Proper English, but... It Sure Does Make ME Feel Better! And, it will YOU TOO!!!
