THE BEAT GOES ON NY PEEWEE RANGERS THRASH THE BOSTON GENERALS ATLANTIC 5-0 WALPOLE, MA (August 1, 2014) –Before this afternoon’s tilt, NY PeeWee Rangers co-coaches Paul Messier and Jeff Devenney wondered if their boys would suffer a let-down playing the second of two games this afternoon. The answer from the team was a resounding, “No problem!” as the Rangers stormed to a 5-0 triumph over the Boston Generals. No one said that more loudly than stellar centerman Trevor Zegras who delivered his second two-goal game on the day. Zegras’s fourth goal on the day came on a great pass from behind the net by d-man Braden Doyle. Taking the puck in the slot, Zegras displayed hands of gold as he roofed a backhander. But Trevor wasn’t the only one with a deuce in the tilt as winger Connor Carroll -- bigger, stronger, and faster than ever -- broke out with a two tallies as well. The other Rangers goal came from Zack Mouzakes who finished a beautiful pass from Liam McLinskey on a two-on-one breakaway. Maybe the happiest news of all today came from Max Caouette who got the call to start in goal and responded like a champion turning back every shot he faced. Caouette was razor-sharp throughout, withstanding two Boston powerplay chances on the way to his shutout. The third and last of the bracket competition comes early Saturday morning at 8:15 am. If the Rangers advance to the playoffs, a furious day of knockout competition begins as the Chowder Cup winds its way to the last team standing
