‘THE BEST OF ME’---It’s Nicholas Sparks ….run for your tissues!! Anyone who is a fan of romantic fiction would know Nicholas Sparks- the male voice in a genre heavily dominated by female writers. I have read almost all his books and watched all the films. I have just watched the latest film ‘The Best of Me’, and like all his books made into films, he truly delivers in a typical Nicholas Sparks style. Nicholas Sparks’ stories takes you on an emotional journey, he humbles you and reminds you that you are mortal. His stories reminds you that life is not a right but a privilege. The twist in his stories are so well done that it could only have happened by divine intervention. Read the books or watch the films; ‘Message in a bottle’, ‘A walk to remember’, ‘Safe Haven’, ‘Nights in Rodanthe’, ‘The Notebook’, ‘The Lucky One’, ‘Dear John’ and a host of others. Talented actors and actresses have brought his characters to life- Kevin Costner, Mandy Moore, Shane West, James Marsden, Josh Duhamel, Channing Tatum, Rachael McAdams and super talented Ryan Gosling amongst others. His characters touches you deeply and you feel their joy as well as their pain and can’t help but reach for your tissues! You look at life differently and realise that so many people don’t have a clue. It’s foolish to be arrogant, it’s foolish to be self-righteous, it’s foolish to be …. well, foolish. To those who do not know this amazing gentleman, I assure you he is worth discovering. Give it a go.
