SHARE TIME TO CULTIVATE A FRIENDSHIP “Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep. Have the same attitude toward others as toward yourselves; do not set your mind on lofty things,* but be led along with the lowly things. Do not become wise in your own eyes.” Romans 12:15, 16 3. LISTEN ATTENTIVELY WHEN OTHERS ARE TALKING “In brotherly love have tender affection for one another. In showing honor to one another, take the lead.” Romans 12:10 Take the lead in displaying honor to them. If you monopolize every conversation, or constantly put yourself in the limelight, you will have a hard time finding someone who is ready to listen or who cares about your feelings and needs. 4. READY TO FORGIVE “up to seventy-seven times.” Matthew 18:21, 22. A true friend is quick to overlook minor failings. 5. RESPECT THE PRIVACY OF OTHERS “Make your foot rare at the house of your fellowman, that he may not have his sufficiency of you and certainly hate you.” Proverbs 25:17 Be reasonable about the frequency and length of visits with friends. Put your familiarity under control. 6. BE GENEROUS “be liberal, ready to SHARE.” (1 Timothy 6:18. “SHARE” encouraging words with others. “The generous person will prosper, And whoever refreshes others will himself be refreshed.” Proverbs 11:25
