THE BIG REVEAL Last week I was talking about coming home early - TopicsExpress

THE BIG REVEAL Last week I was talking about coming home early from a trip because my little RZR had some mechanical issues. This is true and it is in the shop getting new rear wheel bearings and a new brake caliper on one side. Nothing life ending but a problem that needs to be fixed. I had planned on buying a new one in April when the extended warranty on my 2012 ran out. (Some of the best money I ever spent) I wanted to wait until then and buy a 2015 RZR 800 S. Well, Polaris forced my hand early. They have discontinued the 800 for 2015 in favor of the 900 which is something I dont want. Why? if you look at the picture of the odometer, you see a one day trip of 125 miles. The little bars across the top is the fuel gauge. That little RZR gets about 30 miles to the gallon and this was with two people in it. My friend who has a 900 was riding solo with us that day and was having a fuel issue. When we got back to camp, he was on fumes....maybe a 1/2 gallon left. I like the fuel economy of the 800 and when I do run with the big dogs...if they have to wait for me, it is no more than a minute or two. It still does 60 mph. OK back to my story here. Im in the dealership when I dropped off my 2012 to be fixed. Im talking with the owner and the sales guy and told them I wanted another 800 but wnted to wait until April. They had two 800s left and doubted they would be on the floor by the end of the weekend.. Act now or lose out...so I acted. I pulled the trigger on this black and blue 2014 800S.....with another extended warranty. I probably drive more miles than just about anybody...the 2012 has 8600 miles on it and I was aiming for 10K by April. Im not shy about taking it places too. Many times I am by myself which is always a factor in the back of my head. So, by next week the 2012 will be fixed and back home. I am going to clean er up and put new back tires on (got them already...Maxxix Bighorns) and slap a brand spanky new FOR SALE sign on her. Speaking of dealerships....the only place to go in Northern Nevada is Reno Cycles and Gear. They are top notch and customer service is king with them. I recommend them whole heartedly.
