Genesis 22:6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together. 2. ABRAHAM CARRIED THE FIRE BY HIMSELF! Abraham was determined to offer Isaac without any excuse. He knew that there are some things you dont delegate if you will please God. He carried the fire for three days, day and night. What a challenge for you and me. The fire he carried was for the sacrifice only and true enough he made it that way. If you keep the fire till the mountain of sacrifice, you will find Jehovah Jireh! • The fire represents true anointing in life and ministry. Keep the fire, burning in the night and in the day. • The fire represents our faith. We must continue carrying it till we get to the heavenly Jerusalem. There must be no room for backsliding. • The fire represents our level of commitment to God. It is our responsibility to keep that fire and never allow anything to affect it. • The fire represents revival. May the Lord help us keep the fire of revival till he comes? True worshipers are not like submarines that appear once in a while on the surface of the water but are consistent. The availability of the fire on the third shows Abraham’s consistence. He stuck to what he believed. Many people today are losing their convictions because of the changes in the world which unfortunately are also getting into the church. It take watching and praying to keep the fire in our lives. Excuse making in worship is satanic and we must refrain from it. You and I must understand that God will never accept any excuse whatsoever. I want you to have a close look of what happened in the scriptural reference below: Acts 1:8-11 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. 9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. The Lord was addressing his disciples and gave them the promise of the Holy Spirit baptism. He also gave them work to do which was the evangelization of the whole world. Whislt he was talking he started rising from where he was standing and disappeared into the sky. There was no question time but only a promise and an instruction. Given a chance the disciples would have asked the following questions: *How do we reach the whole world without our own ship? *Where do we get the resources for world evangelization? *How about the language barrier? *Who will remain with our families? *What are we going to eat? *How about the persecution here in Jerusalem? *How do we get the gospel to the Greeks as fishermen? Many excuses and unfortunately there was no time to express them. When the Lord comes, he will come to receive the report only and not listen to excuses. Let us serve God without excuses. Some of you reading this article were called a long time ago to go on missions but with one excuse or the other you have differed that call.My friend no one will fight you but the one who called will take you to task. The gifts and the callings of God are without repentance. You told God that when you get married you will consider the call and now you are married. Another excuse has come up that you want to secure your family first and that after you have built the house you will go. The house has been built and now you are saying that you want to wait for the pension age as you don’t want to lose o the pay out. There you are my friend. You have given all your best years to the world and now you want to offer your useless years to God. Thank God I heeded to the call to serve the Lord in the prime time of my life. I only worked for three years and responded to that. Despite all the challenges I have gone through, history will never be erased that I started Deeper Life Bible Church in 1994 in Pretoria and Johannesburg and even got the church registered with the government. I was a lonely member and God helped me. God has kept me in this country and He has been on my side through out my trials and all years of rejection for being a Zambian missionary. I am keeping that fire by the grace of God and the wind of suffering will never put it off. I am determined to meet my Lord and here his words, well done my faithful servants. I am not worried about not receiving recognition from man. Abraham carried the fire for three days. Are you still carrying that fire in your life? Will you pay the price of daily consistence!
