THE BLOOD ATONEMENTPaul Dhinakaran But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him (Isaiah 53:5) Dearly beloved, We have been reconciled to God the Father through the sacrifice of Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross. The Bible says, “Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him“ (Romans 5:9). Through His blood, today, Lord Jesus has pushed away the cup of wrath from the Father’s hand so that it should not act against you. You have been set free! Lord Jesus said in Luke 10:18: "I saw satan fall like lightning from heaven.” He can no more climb to heaven to accuse the brethren. He cannot accuse you before the Father for he has fallen down like lightning. Peace has been established between God and man. At any time, you can go to the presence of the Father and call unto Him saying, “Abba, Father.” No more paths of punishment for you; rather He will grant you the way of hope and salvation created by Lord Jesus. Not only that, He will embrace you with both His loving hands and bless you! The Bible says, “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony” (Revelation 12:10, 11). Since Lord Jesus went through the chastisement for our sake, the Father has sent the Holy Spirit through His Son Jesus and removed the cup of wrath. As a result, the heaven is opened up for us. The authority was taken away from the devil ever since Lord Jesus removed the cup of wrath through His blood. Without the blood of Lord Jesus, no one can go to heaven. That’s why His blood had to be shed. When Lord Jesus shed His blood on the cross and breathed His last, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom (Mark 15:37,38). The Scripture says, “Having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it (Colossians 2:14,15). As stated in the preceding Bible verse, He triumphed over death and the devil through His death on the Cross. The Bible says, “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him” (Isaiah 53:5). As mentioned in the above Bible verse, Lord Jesus Christ suffered on the Cross on our behalf. When you believe in Him and accept Him as your Saviour, He will wash you with His precious blood and grant you His forgiveness and salvation. He will bless you with eternal life. Prayer: Loving Lord Jesus, You shed your precious blood on the Cross to save me. You sacrificed your life for me to give me eternal life. I accept You as my personal Saviour. Please come into my heart. Wash me with your precious blood and make me your child. Please deliver me and protect me from all evil. Remove all my burdens. Please help me to live for the glory of your name. In Your matchless name I pray. Amen. ----
