THE BOB – WEEK 4 Sorry guys – I didn’t get a chance to - TopicsExpress

THE BOB – WEEK 4 Sorry guys – I didn’t get a chance to even look at this until today, and I just ran out of time. Just a few highlights on this abbreviated version of The Bob: -Dwarves stomp the Neds 14 to 5. Captain Rich Hutchins wasn’t at the game, so it’s hard to say how different it might have been if he had been there. Brian D’Angelo scores 7 and assists on 2 more in the win while Ryan Konko had 51 saves for a 91% save percentage. Upstairs 3 Stars: Brian D’Angelo, Zach Davis, Ryan Konko -Unsullied beats The Bear almost as badly 14 to 4. Captain Mike Bryant did not play. Gianni had 6 goals and 2 assists, and Tim Scott became the first goalie in YMCA history to score a goal, while also having a 91% on the night himself (on 41 saves). Upstairs 3 Stars: Gianni Jones, Tim Anderson, Tim Scott -Rydaz outlasted the Faceless Men 10 to 8. This was the closest game of the night, and the Faceless led 7 to 4 going into the third. Joe finished with 7 goals and the penalty bug bit the Faceless bad with Dan Hoock earning a double minor and Kurt Brownell adding a penalty minute. Faceless are still winless while the Rydaz win their second in a row. This was also Chad Burdick’s (2 assists) debut to replace Bill Smith. Upstairs 3 Stars: Joe Gandt, Dan Hoock, Mike Sturgis -In the third blowout of the night Kings beat Children 16 to 4. Tim Torrey had 7 goals and 1 assist and Jeff Birge had 8 goals and 1 assist. Children had their whole team present, but rookie Mike Furlano was scoreless and Paul Paradine/Jon Ramsey were held in check with stellar defense and great goaltending. Bill Reilich became the third goalie on the night with a 91% save percentage (42 saves). Upstairs 3 Stars: Tim Torrey, Jeff Birge, Bill Reilich -Upstairs gave the three stars of the week to all goalies: Tim Scott, Ryan Konko, and Bill Reilich POWER RANKINGS: 1. Dwarves – 8 points; 4-0-0 (3-0-0) (Last week: 1) Still undefeated. Still scoring an absurd number of goals (most in the league at 49 or 12.25 per game). 2. Kings – 7 points; 3-0-1 (2-0-1) (Last week: 2) Only lost to the undefeated Dwarves, in overtime. Finally got a win under their belt with the captain present (other wins came against Dan Hoock-less Faceless Men and Mike Bryant-less Bear/Maiden Fair). 3. Rydaz – 5 points; 2-1-1 (1-1-1) (Last week: 6) With a two game winning streak the Rydaz leapfrog the rest of their division in my power rankings, and in the actual rankings. They score in spurts, but when they’re on, they score a ton. 4. Unsullied – 4 points; 2-2-0 (1-2-0) (Last Week: 7) I feel bad leapfrogging Unsullied over two teams that had a loss without their captain, but what was encouraging to me about this team was the stat sheet: every member of the team had at least one goal this week (including the goalie, but that’s just the frosting on the cakes). Still disconcerting: only 2 assists on 14 goals. 5. Children – 4 points; 2-2-0 (2-1-0) (Last Week: 3) I didn’t see the loss, but one bad game doesn’t mean this team is bad. I still have a lot of faith in the firepower on this team, and we’ll see if they have the ability to bounce back this week. 6. Neds – 4 points; 2-2-0 (2-1-0) (Last week: 4) As I’ve said before, this team plays completely different without captain Rich Hutchins on the floor. I didn’t see this game either, but I have to think that his absence had a lot to do with it (and they played the Dwarves). 7. Bear – 3 points; 1-2-1 (1-1-1) (Last week: 5) The Bear is on a 3 game losing streak, losing every game after their opener against my own winless Faceless Men. Mike Bryant has been absent for 2 of the 3 losses, so that is a big factor, but I have more question marks than answers for this team right now. 8. Faceless – 0 points; 0-4-0 (0-3-0) (Last week: 8) Still winless. Still looking for answers. We showed a glimpse of it for two periods this week, compared to our usual MO of only playing well for one period. We just have to find a way to get three periods out of it.
