THE BOX Then the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, what have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times? And Balaam said to the donkey because you have made a fool of me. I wish I had a sword in my hand, for then I would kill you. Num 22:28-29 We all have a little box that we live in. When we are born we usually start out in a crib, we grow bigger and have a play pen, then our entire bedroom. Before long we are crawling around the house, and later into the yard. This is normal as kids. Our understanding of the world is made up of what we have seen in life so far. We are constantly growing, learning, expanding. Even the universe continues to expand by the minute. As we mature, we tend to set limits, stop expanding, stop believing, stop growing. We become a static, unchangeable mass of Christian beliefs. Thus SAID the Lord ... instead of Thus SAITH the Lord. At times in your life the Lord may do something completely unexpected. You have to leave room for God to be God. In Numbers 22:27 donkeys did not talk to people, but in verse 28 they did. Can God do a new thing today? YES, He can. May He ask you to do something new? Decide today if you want to stay stuck were you are or grow in the wisdom of the Lord, doing His new thing!
