THE BOY IS A MAN! Today my son Joshua Nathan, Jr is EIGHTEEN YEARS OLD! I recall with amusement, like back 20 years ago, after I was shredded to size by God from my high horse as the man of FAITH! who repeatedly demanded each time my wife was pregnant for a baby-boy! My presumptions were disappointed and when reality kicked in I was now a humble believer who simply asked for the will of God to be done. Lol! Right in the midst of a revival that broke out in our church in March 95 the Spirit of God impressed upon me to embark on a dangerous mission trip to Rwanda (and Burundi) on the heels of the ethnic war of genocide. Gone for two weeks stretch, and on this particular day returning from the church of death where 100s were charred to death, my wife reached me by phone in a Kigali hotel (capital of Rwanda) and all I remember her saying was Im pregnant!. That pregnancy is my boy-man JOSHUA-JUNIOR! Purely Gods gift, beyond my selfish presumptions, announced in my obedience to missions. Hes become more than I could ever hope for. He is my joy! A minister of God, psalmist, thinker, leader, friend and confidante. He has a charmingly calming effect on me and connects with me in a unique way! He is graduating High School this month with honors, stepping out as Mr. GQ for his prom night on Friday (watch out now!) and heading to College this Fall to study Film Production. Would you PRAY for the young man, for Gods continuing blessing to rest and abide with him all the days of his life IJN? HAPPY BIRTHDAY SON!
