THE BRITISH & RACISM in the 1900s :- Lest we may Forget !!! The Brits were always Racist to the core ! In East Africa, they did however realise that Goans were the most Trusted & Dependable of Ppl, & therefore employed them throughout their Infrastructure as Civil Servants, Clerks and Teachers. I will never forget, that my late Father, Mr. Marshall Rodrigues thru his sheer hard work, rose through the ranks of the Uganda Civil Service & the Treasury as it was called, to run the Public Debt Dept of the Central Bank of Uganda. Now my Point :- We moved up the Ladder, rapidly , 1st into European exclusive Quarters in Kololo, then onto a massive place on Queens Road, as my Dad hit a peak. These were areas where no Asians were allowed to live by the Racist British. People forget that they took the same system of Discrimination in favour of the Whites into Rhodesia ( now Zimbabwe ) & then into South Africa. - MILT, President of Goans International, elected in 1999.
