THE BUBBLE REPUTATION goes audio. This news just in this morning, yet another audio book. (How old does one have to get to have written so many novels?) About a month ago, I heard from an amazing woman down in Portland. She was narrating my book for the audio and had come to the scene where Mugs the cat dies. She wanted to let me know how powerful the scene was and how it affected her. I was so touched. That scene was taken in part from something that happened to me in real life, with a stray cat Id rescued. But what is more important is that again something mostly fictional, written one day in the summer of 1988, connected me to a new friend in 2014. I wouldnt have met her otherwise. This is what astonishes me about writing more than anything. And Im soon to start bombarding these pages with news of my upcoming Christmas book. Be prepared! She has performed in theaters as far flung as San Francisco, Santa Fe, and Detroit, in roles ranging from Stella in A Streetcar Named Desire to Nancy Spungeon in A Sid and Nancy X-Mas. She is a member of the Mad Horse Theatre Company and the Maine State Ballet, works on many independent Maine theater projects and films, and appears regularly on local commercial television. As a narrator, she recently won her first Earphones Award from AudioFile magazine for her work on Dancer. As a child, she watched her mother record audiobooks and is proud to follow her in this work. She lives with her husband, Michael.
