THE BURSTED KIDNAPPING DEN IN ORLU. The speedy intervention of the security forces yesterday 14 July 2014 to burst a kidnapping den along Okporo Orlu axis has really been commended by people. It was gathered that the kidnappers rented an entire 2storey building from widow in the community who lives in Onitsha. Though the woman igonorant of the activities that is going in the house never thaught why just a gang will decide to rent and live in the entire building alone. Sources gathered that the security operatives acted on a tip off that a gang kidnapped an Nnewi man and kept him in the building demanding ransome from the family members. According to one of the sources, the sum of N25m was demanded which during negotiation, the family accepted to pay N7m but the gang insisted that the less they can accept from them is N10m. It was still on the course of this negotiation that the police intervened and bursted their den that early morning killing 2 of the gang members during the heavy exchange of fire and arrested others. Their ring leader who is said to come from Mbaise was reported killed. Meanwhile, the kidnapped victime was set free by the brave security force. The gang both the living & the dead was paraded at the Orlu divisional Police Headquarters before moving them to Owerri. Meanwhile people have been expressing their gratitude to the police over the incident.
