THE CAMPAIGN WAS A SUCCESS ...THE DIV 1 MIXED CUP HAS COME HOME TO WERRIBEE INDOOR.....Where do I start ....1st up we had Roos mixed V Oakleigh who had been undefeated until we came into the comp . The game kept swinging and the nerves were showing as both teams kept giving the ball up. Roos were up by 7 and then Oakleigh fought back to draw with us ...The pressure was on and both teams were there to take home the gold . Turnovers were a plenty and there was lots of yelling from both teams trying to get the adrenaline pumping and gain an advantage . Oakleigh made some changes, taking their shooter ( who was causing some headaches ) and putting him in defence and I guess I can now say GAME OVER ! The Roos went into overdrive and SMASHED the opposition winning by 19 goals .Dean , Cait , Tay , Michael , Briody Jessie & Louie your all superstars and here at Indoor we couldnt be prouder !!! Next up we had the ladies ( DIV 2 GF ) V Hoppers and again both teams were there to take home the gold . Hoppers came out with all pistons firing and in the 1st qtr it was easy to see that they were not going down without a fight . The game was tough and at 1 stage in the 1st we were down , Hoppers out playing us in all positions. Time was called,Werribee had sustained an injury , Caitlin was down and out with a possible calf tear . Changes were made and we were off and running in the "PREMIERSHIP CUP " Werribee never looked back !!! Winners by 12 ... Jess, Cait , Izzy , Jessie G , Hinemoa , Tessie , Briody & Renay not only a champion team but a bunch of champion girls ...WELL DONE DID I MENTION THAT MICHAEL WON " PLAYER OF THE SERIES " AND "PLAYER OF THE GF" and if that wasnt enough JESSIE WON "PLAYER OF GF " IN THE LADIES GF . I think I can say Werribee had a successful season , not bad for a centre that started in the competition late, giving all the other clubs a 5 game head start with premiership points . Werribee Indoor ...The place to be ....
