THE CASA NARA PROJECT THE STORY This was NARAs back 2-3 years ago, Her spine was collapsing on itself from her being in a wheelchair and the weight of her growing body wearing not being able to be supported by her spine. Through her operation, and 100 of Pins, Screws etc put into, around and through her spine, they were able to straighten NARAs Spine - and now shes a Dancing Machine. The CASA NARA PROJECT, is about giving this special young lady something we all take for granted. HER OWN SPACE - My niece has been living in her tiny lil room since she was born, Ive seen the paint go from Pink to Purple (her fav colour) and her posters change from the wiggles to STAN WALKER & GUY SEBASTIAN Lol. Nara will need full time care all of her life, shes about to turn 19, and this young lady is in the same tiny room as she was when she was a little girl. the CASA NARA PROJECT is about giving her a funky, cool sleepout, and turning it into a cool little New York City style Apartment, and giving my niece a FUNKY, FRESH **INDEPENDANT** Space. A place where she can pump her sounds, watch her movies, invite her friends over, even a little dance fllor space and mirror where she can practise her dance moves and grooves. NARA has danced with me since she was 6-7 years old. Though limited in her body movent she has been UNLIMITED or LIMITLESS - (Shout out) in her passion, enthusiasm and love for dancing. And for those of you who can see into her eyes when she dancers you know that she has the Soul of a dancer. And what she can move, she moves with conviction. I know Shenarargh is one of 1000s with Cerebral palsey, and this condition is one of 100,000s of conditions out there that force individuals and their families into a different lifestyle that they may have invisioned when they welcome their baby into the world. We all have someone in our own familes effected, and this young lady is in MY FAMILY, Which is why I am asking my conatct, friends family to help and support. To the NZ Salsa family - I thank you, NARAs family thanks you, and NARA herself thanks you all from the bottom of her heart. We have builders, wanting and willing to give their time, we have electricians, Concrete layers all willing to give their time - and for this we are so greatful. The CASA NARA PROJECT is about raising the money needed to by the Materials, or a prefab Sleepout, gain Council approvals, to action this space, and get it made. NARA will be able to turn the loghts on & off, her music, movies and and off. Through her eye laser computer. Its so exciting to be a part of this PROJECT and Im so excited fro my grogeous neice. --- SADLY :( ---- On NARAs Sweet 16 - We raised over $4000 which was stolen, by someone who we found out had gambling problems, and the money was never recovered, nor the person held accountable. So this time we are gonna make it work. So to all the Salsa Schools in New Zealand, I ask that you consider running a Salsal Party in your town for NARA, and help me, Star Dance Academy, and her family to make her dream come true. If you saw this girl dance at congress, know that was not a once off, that is the way this little girl has danced since she was 7 years old. NARA is now a dance teacher at Star Whanganui with Marie Louise, she helps sign kids in each week, Starts the class through her voice computer, and tells that Boys Mr Kenny & Mr Jordan when they are slacking. Thankyou to the amazing salsa schools that have helped already. Its been awesome. We have some great news to share with you all, and this NEXT SATURDAY the 12th JULY, we will be running a FUNRAISING CONCERT for NARA in her home town of Whanganui. We are taking 40 dancers from te South Island, have 5 dancers coming ver from Sydney, and dancers from all around NZ to come and help support her SHOW! See you there!
