THE CHALLENGE ISSUED! On Wednesday, Jan. 14th, a challenge was issued to the DPPD to re-create their own version of a popular viral-video of several police officers lip-syncing to a song from The Lion King! The actual challenge video is posted down in the comments below! Its awesome and went viral shortly after it was posted only 4 months ago! As of today, it has almost 70,000 views! THE CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! It didnt take long for our DPPD to respond! As you can see from the teaser-video below, DPPD has boldly accepted the challenge!!! ITS ALL IN THE SPIRIT OF FUN! Since the original challenge was issued weve had LOTS of comments from many of you who would like to participate in our challenge! Pledges and donations are NOT required, but some of us want to up the ante and are pledging donations to the Deer Park Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association. Once again, pledges and donations are NOT required, but feel free to make a pledge if youd like! Also feel free to add your own personal dare or words of encouragement! HERES HOW IT WORKS! ~ All pledges are made on the honor system! ~ We arent keeping track, and you wont receive a call or a bill; just please do your best to honor your pledge if you can! ~ Many DPPD supporters have already made pledges that total almost $300! WHY ISNT THIS ON THE OFFICIAL DPPD FACEBOOK PAGE? The DPPD itself can not solicit, fund-raise or accept donations of gifts or cash of any kind. The DPPD must adhere to strict guidelines and always avoid the appearance of any financial improprieties. IS THIS A LEGITIMATE FUNDRAISING EFFORT? YES...! I am a member of the DPCPAAA! The Deer Park Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association is a non-profit organization that supports and raises funds to be used by the DPPD. The DPCPAAA is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) Organization and all proceeds are used to benefit the DPPD and its Officers! HOW AND WHEN WILL PLEDGES BE COLLECTED? ~ Remember: Pledges are made on the Honor System!
