THE CHOICE IS GOD Andrew was originally the disciple of John - TopicsExpress

THE CHOICE IS GOD Andrew was originally the disciple of John the Baptist. He brought Simon (Peter) to Jesus. He believed and walked with Jesus before Peter. Nathaniel was a man of great character and outstanding quality as Jesus Himself revealed. In all, Peter was chosen as the Leader of the church above everyone. “The following day John was again standing with two of his disciples. As Jesus walked by, John looked at him and declared, “Look! There is the Lamb of God!” When John’s two disciples heard this, they followed Jesus. Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of these men who heard what John said and then followed Jesus. Andrew went to find his brother, Simon, and told him, “We have found the Messiah” (which means “Christ”). Then Andrew brought Simon to meet Jesus… Philip went to look for Nathaniel and told him, “We have found the very person Moses and the prophets wrote about! His name is Jesus, the son of Joseph from Nazareth.” “Nazareth!” exclaimed Nathaniel. “Can anything good come from Nazareth?” “Come and see for yourself,” Philip replied. As they approached, Jesus said, “Now here is a genuine son of Israel – a man of complete integrity.” John 1:35-47 (NLT) Humanly speaking, Andrew or Nathaniel would be chosen and seen as the potential leader of the Apostles but the choice is God and Peter was the person chosen. Nevertheless, the relevance of the rest is an eternal revelation. Abide in your calling, position and responsibility as ordained by God. If you understand this, you won’t join in scheming, struggling or inordinately pursuing for a position, calling or responsibility that God has not committed into your hands. Andrew and Nathaniel never wrote any epistle as Peter did but their relevance to the body of Christ is not inferior to Peter’s leadership role. Rather seek to be relevant in the will of the Father than to be known and acclaimed outside the purpose of God. JESUS REIGNS!
