THE CHUCK ROAST CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN ROLL ON TO NUMBER 8. Santa - TopicsExpress

THE CHUCK ROAST CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN ROLL ON TO NUMBER 8. Santa Claus Is Coming to Town is a Christmas song. It was written by John Frederick Coots and Haven Gillespie and was first sung on Eddie Cantors radio show in November 1934. It became an instant hit. Many others have recorded including Fred Astaire and Perry Como. Perhaps the best is the famous rock and roll version by Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band. The song was almost exclusively played when the band was on tour in the weeks leading up to Christmas, and during these performances, late E Street Band member Clarence Clemons would perform the role of Santa, filling in with many ho ho hos and often wearing a Christmas hat. The song was recorded in a 1975 live version and eventually released in 1985 as a B-side to My Hometown, a single from the Born in the U.S.A. album. Can you Name the original members of the E Street Band? Bonus points for the E Street Band member who co-starred in The Sopranos. Mega bonus points for the Name of three Springsteen albums.
