THE CHURCH AND POLITICS? MOST UNHAPPY MIX! Going by MM (15/10/13) report, the catholic church seems to have invited heaps of trouble and turmoil, pressed and over-flowing for itself and the parishioners who were suddenly caught unawares. Has the PP of Mt. Carmel Church Bandra, nothing better to do than to mix the two, allegedly make INDISCREET and UNCALLED-FOR statements in public? Must he be reminded that todays layman, catholic or otherwise, is educated and adequately informed in several matters, qualified to make his own judgments and take his own decisions? Does he (PP) lack that simple modicum of good sense, not to invite the local politician to inaugurate the September Garden event? Why he did what he did - MUST BE THOROUGHLY AND PUBLICLY INVESTIGATED INTO. Is there something more than what meets the eye? GOD and CAESAR must be judiciously kept apart: Render to Caesar the things that are Caesars, and to God the things that are Gods, says the Bible.
