THE CHURCH HISTORY:Why do popes stay in Rome?some years after pentacost apostles remained in palestines,&around Jerusalem;but st.paul was ambitious enough to take the church to all races.He was a Roman citizen,well educated not only in Jewish laws&traditions but also greek language&learning called Hellenistic.He traveled thru syria,Greece&finally Rome.st.peter as the head of the church also folowed him to Rome.All of them were persecuted there,but there sacrifice was much fruitful.Bishops were appointed in Jerusalem,Antioch wt priests as their helper but Rome turned more influential,where peter&paul were matyred.In 63AD after peters death,Linus took over&became the 2nd pope,st.clement in 95AD.They were all to live in Rome wic was called sede(see in Eng} meaning seat of authoritythou almost all faced alots of persecution from the Roman emperors until 300AD.Upto now 267 popes have lived there making the use of the key of the kingdom,{ Jn21:15-19},{Mt16:17-19
