THE CONVERSATION STARTED WITH.... the first young man (Michele, 27 from Montreal, Canada) who asked what we were doing and soon let me know that he was an atheist. His only real basis for claiming atheism was that he had just never been introduced to the Truth of Gods Word and Jesus Christ. Within about ten minutes of our conversation starting, his friend (also 27 and from Canada) name Robert - came into the conversation with the initial intent of pulling his friend away from me and back into the party of Bourbon Street; but, instead of him doing the pulling he was the one pulled in as he heard me speaking forth the Word of God to his friend. As Michele attempted to deflect and make light of our conversation, Robert suddenly came under conviction and said, Listen. He is right, as he draped his arm around my shoulder and continued to listen. I was able to speak candidly about the consequence of sin and the bondage that it creates - and has created in their lives through yielding to this to this instrument of destruction. Robert was a backslider and was undone right there at the 500 Block of Bourbon St. I embraced him and started to pray for a deep conviction to come upon his life and the scales of deception to be ripped away from his heart and life. He trembled and wept as I prayed for the Holy Spirit to break the yokes of bondage from his life. I then told him, You will no longer find comfort in your compromise. God is giving you this last opportunity and He is about to turn up the hear. If He had to drag you across the Canadian border all the way to New Orleans to wake you up - - then here it is! He said, I know...I know. I told Michele - Watch your friend closely. You are going to see a change happening in his life. The easy-going, go along with the crowd guy that you have grown to know is about to be very uncomfortable as the Holy Spirit deals with him to bring him to repentance. When it happens you are going to see a transformation and you are going to have some serious questions for him. They both sincerely thanked me for talking to them before hugging my neck (Michel - a French Canadian!) actually kissed me on the cheek (lol). The next night (Saturday) they both returned to the Cross to shake my hand and to tell me hello and that they were leaving to return home. Places keep these two men in your prayers!
