THE COST - How much does a gallon of milk cost you? What about a dozen eggs? How much time does it cost you to stay in shape? I bet you know the cost of these items. Salvation is totally and completely free; Jesus died for us and gave us the free gift of salvation. But have you given any personal offerings to the Lord lately that cost you something? 2 Samuel 24:24 "Then the king (David) said to Araunah, "No, but I will surely buy it from you for a price; nor will I offer burnt offerings to the LORD my God with that which costs me nothing." So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver." You see, Araunah was going to give David the things he needed for a burnt offering but David refused them. Why? David stated that he would not offer something to the Lord that cost him nothing. How great of a cost are you willing to give to the Lord? Our walk with Him should cost us something. Make your own personal burnt offering to the Lord - burn something that cost you personally, on the altar before your God and King! 2 Samuel 24:25 And David built there an altar to the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings.
