THE COVENANT WITH ABRAHAM And he said unto him, “I am the LORD that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldeans, to give thee this land to inherit it.” Genesis 15:7, KJV Even though we know that God keeps His promises and that whatever He says, He will do, we still complain like Abram. Our condition or waiting period might lead us to doubt God’s promise(s) to us. When Abram was in doubt about the covenant God further gave him assurance and absolute security. God has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant – not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life (2 Corinthians 3:6, NIV). The covenant of God with Christians comes with His spirit as an assurance. Therefore, when you have reasons to doubt God, remember you have His Spirit, which gives a secured hope for the fulfilment of the promise. No matter your situation or the challenge you are going through, trust in God and rely on His covenant. Do not doubt or fear. Your expectations will not be cut short and you will not be put to shame.
