THE COWBOYS PRAYER - Roy and Trigger offer a short prayer in this short shown in movie theaters for the members of The Roy Rogers Riders Club in the 1950s. I was a member of the Roy Rogers Fan Club from 1952 to 1958 when I was a boy. Roy Rogers, and his wife, actress Dale Evans, were both born-again Christians. Yep, I had my official Roy Rogers lunchbox, sixgun cap guns, wristwatch, and harmonica. I still have the harmonica, a Hohner. This promotional trailer for The Roy Rogers Riders Club was filmed in Trucolor on The Republic Pictures lot and paid for by The King of the Cowboys himself, around 1955. It was given free to theater owners as a promotional incentive for kids to join the club for which they would receive a membership card, photo of Roy, a pledge and a special comic book.
