THE CREATED TRIPARTITE BEING-Gen 1:26 Then God said, Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground. This verse gives us a profound picture regarding our creation and our destiny. It confounds the theorists against the creation theory. God was making reference to his triune nature when he said Let us...He was involving God the Son and God the Holy Spirit-the Trinity. ...make man in our image and likeness depicts a continual process to be like the Godhead and the continual process of making men after Adam. However, man was made a tripartite being;a Spirit which has a Soul and resides in a Body. We know this for fact from scriptural reference pertaining Salvation, Death and Resurrection. When a person dies, the Spirit goes back to the maker, the Soul goes to the place of the dead and the Body begins a process of decay. When a person believes on the Lord Jesus Christ,he receives a free gift of Salvation of the Spirit-by Grace. The Soul and the Body do not get saved. They start waging war against the desire of the Spirit man. The recipient of the free gift of eternal salvation of the Spirit is hence mandated to work out Salvation of their Souls in fear and trembling. Salvation of our Souls is work resulting in a reward for our labor hence the reason to look forward to our Masters Rest. Upon Resurrection,our mortal bodies will be clothed with immortality. Let them rule over....municates the plan of God for Man to have dominion. We are yet to rule over....as God planned. This then talks of our destiny where we look forward to rule and reign for a thousand years from the Heavens and in eternity on the New earth. From this we learn; 1. Gods plan for man to have dominion is cast to our destiny since it is yet to be realised. 2.Man is a tripartite being, A Spirit with a Soul living inside a Body made in the image and likeness of God who is a Triune being, God the Father,God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. 3. Eternal Salvation of the Spirit is a free gift to those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation of our Souls is a continual labor. We have to labor for it and expect a reward. God bless you.
