THE CURRENT SITUATION IN YEMEN The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is monitoring the curent situation in Sana’a Yemen closely, following the suicide bombings in Tahrir Square Sanaa on Thursday 9 October 2014 which had led to the loss of lives of at least 43 people and injured 75 others. At present, the Embassy of Malaysia in Sana’a confirmed that all Malaysians in Sana’a, mostly students are safe. The Ministry and the Embassy of Malaysia in Sana’a is currently in the process of evacuating Malaysians that are affected by the clashes in stages. As of yesterday evening, a total of 154 Malaysians have arrived safely in Malaysia. The next group of 39 Malaysians have already left Sana’a and is expected to arrive Malaysia today Friday 10 October 2014 at 7.25pm, bringing the total number of Malaysians evacuated from Yemen to 193.
