I wish to thank all of my colleagues and the members of the Democratic Alliance in Gauteng for their confidence in me today. From today until Election Day 2014 we will campaign tirelessly in every corner and street of this province. We know that we can win Gauteng in 2014 - it will require a massive effort, but the DA’s blue machine is up to the task. We don’t want to win just for the sake of it; we want to win so that we can help deliver jobs for ordinary Gauteng residents struggling to make ends meet, and so that we can deliver clean and efficient government for everyone. We have a long way to go before Election Day, but the work begins right now. In due course we will release a full policy plan for how we will turn this province around and deliver a provincial government focused on opportunities for all – this campaign will not just be one of slogans, but of ideas and policies for a better future for Gauteng. On Sunday I will hold a press conference in Dobsonville, Soweto, at 12h00, where I will brief the media on our campaign plans for the coming months. More details on this will follow tomorrow.
