THE DAILY CUP - 6/2/2014 The Book of God The Bible in 90 Days has challenged me like nothing else to a disciplined and daily Bible reading. Being gone last week, I am already behind but I am determined to catch up! We simply can not under estimate the power of Gods Word in our lives. We take all our theological and moral cues from the Book of God. No wonder through the ages, Christians have been killed for translating it, teaching it, reading it and even simply owning it. John Wesley was passionate about it! I love his Preface to his STANDARD SERMONS: I am a creature of the day, passing through life as an arrow through the air. I am a spirit come from God, and returning to God, just hovering over the great gulf, till, a few moments hence, I am no more seen; I drop into an unchangeable eternity! I want to know one thing -- the way to heaven; how to land safe on that happy shore. God Himself has condescended to teach the way; for this very end He came from heaven. He hath written it down in a book! O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God! I join with Wesley: Give me the Book of God!
