THE DAY DADDY JUMPED OUT OF A 39 FORD PICKUP TRUCK Daddy talked to a man up in Suches about a 39 ford pickup he had for sale on the phone.So we got the pickup and the trailer and went to look at this truck.When we got there the man showed it to Daddy and wanted 2500.00 for it.Daddy said thanks but no thanks,he was mad for it was not worth 500.00.We started home and stopped at a little store for a coke and pack of crackers down the way.Daddy told the man inside were we had been,the man told Daddy were 3 of them were,and even took us to see the man who owned them.Daddy bought all 3 for 600.00 the worst one was better than the one the man had ask 2500.00 for.He paid the man and we loaded one next to his shop.The next day we went and got another.That following saturday we went to get the last one.I backed the trailer up hooked it up and Daddy got inside to sterr.All of a sudden Daddy hollard and started#@#$%% and nearly broke his neck trying to get out and went sprawling at the edge of the woods.I said what is the matter with you?There is a @#@$% snake in here.Behind him came a rattlesnake barley moving out and down the running board.I just hooked a chain to the frame and moved it down in front of the mans shop.I said you pull it up with the winch and I will sterr,I just stood on the running board and guided it on the trailer.I think about this today and cant help but smile.Someday soon I will tell how Hollywood came calling and how they wanted to use all Daddys cars in the Movies.Even Paul Newmen would come and drink Coffee with Daddy when he was raceing at Road Atlanta.LORD THE ADVENTURES OF HENRY ODELL SANDERS,,,,,,Terry,,,,,
