THE DEDICATION OF THE LATERAN BASILICA. Today catholics through out the world celebrate her mother church, the st.John lateran Basilica. We have so many basilicas but there are four great papal basilica of rome namely. * st.peter BASILICA also known as the vatican basilica, it is a pilgrimage site built over the burial place of st peter. * st paul outside the wall BASILICA also known as the ostian BASILICA because it is situated on the road leading to ostia, at the burial place of saint paul. * st. Mary major BASILICA also known as the liberain basilica because the original building( not the present one) was attributed to pope Liberius, it is the largest church in rome Dedicated to the blessed Virgin Mary. * st John BASILICA also known as the LATERAN BASILICA is the cathedral of the bishop of rome ( papal pontif) thats the pope. It is the mother church. Today the church also celebrate the church which will be destroyed and re built in three days( Jesus christ). St paul in the second reading said to the corinthians you are Gods building, the temple of the lord, therefore whomsoever that destroys the holy temple of God will be destroyed Gods temple is holy and that temple is u...............
