THE DESPOT OF ISRAELS government will be hard pressed to survive this! A member of the distinguished Winograd Commission has called for an inquiry into the events of the military engagement of the Gaza operation. In specific, the inquiry will exam the military decisions made by PM Netanyahu, DM Moshe Yaalon and IDF Chief Benny Gantz. The Winograd commission was a 5 member panel established by the Israeli government to investigation the Second Lebanon war. The conclusion of the report was harshly critical of prime minister Ehud Olmert and played a major role in his political downfall. When the interim Winograd report was released, many called on Olmert to resign including his own Vice-Premier, Tzipi Livni who pulled a political coup detat and joined with those calling for his ouster. She recommended that he step down as Premier and be replaced by....HERSELF. ( A comparison would be Joe Biden asking Pres Obama to step down and to allow the VP/himself to assume the presidency) The coup didnt work. 25 members of Kadima political party supported the PM and only 2 joined Livni in demanding him to resign. He was advised to fire her immediately, instead, he allowed her to keep her job which perhaps, was the most foolish political decision he ever made. The establishment of a Winograd style commission is very bad news for Netanyahu. He is already losing control of his coalition, the public support for the Gaza military engagement has dropped dramatically and bottom line: Israel will be in a weaker position against Hamas after the war ends that it was before it began...all due to Netanyahus failed leadership. The last thing BB needs is to be investigated by his own government while also facing war criminal charges at the UN. His predecessor, prime minister Ehud Olmert was ultimately forced out of office after the Winograd final report and replaced by Livni although Olmert was also under investigated by the AG on several criminal charges. Is this the mugshot of BB the war criminal convict OR the mugshot of BB indicted and convicted by his own government due to his reckless conduct in Operation Protective Edge? Keep in mind, two consecutive Israeli presidents, Weizman and Katsav were forced to resign, one president is currently serving a 7 yr prison sentence, another prime minister Ehud Olmert was convicted earlier this year on corruption charges and will begin a 6 yr prison sentence in Sept 2014, the new president (Rivlin) has not been in office for 30 days and already, a criminal probe has been initiated. Netanyahu has been investigated several times and has barely escaped indictment by the skin of his teeth Perhaps, Netanyahu will follow in his predecessor Olmerts footsteps. If so, Netanyahus government will dissolved, hes forced out and replaced by new Likud party leadership and after his political defeat...GOTCHA !! He did the crime, hes gotta serve his time.
