THE DESTINY TRANSFORMER. TEXT: MATTHEW 2:1-10 KEY VERSE: “And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel” (Matthew 2:6). A song writer scripted: “From rags unto riches, from silver to gold, from tinsel to diamond of value untold… He takes a beggar and makes him a king.” The birth of Jesus Christ in the city of Bethlehem defied the imagination of everyone in those days. If voice votes were required to suggest the appropriate city where Christ should be born, Bethlehem would be the least choice because of its low rating at the time. But God who chooses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise, decided that his Son would come from a city of no repute. Thus, Bethlehem became the birth place of the Saviour of the world. The passage today tells us that God is still in the business of lifting people from the dunghills, from rags to riches, and is still capable of lifting a beggar from his obscure position to have a portion among the princes. Nothing is impossible with God. In case you are thinking that the door of hope has been permanently shut against you, it is time you change your thoughts because God has not said his last word concerning you. A song writer said: “It is always darkest before dawn.” When it appears that there is no more remedy for your malady, Christ will restore your hope. There is hope for the hopeless. The Almighty God is capable of changing every story. It is beyond anyone’s imagination what God can do to turn around a life. Those who are wise will never give up because they know that soon the “Sun of righteosness will arise” for them “with healing in his wings”. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The Lord has the capacity to turn around every captivity.
