THE DEUCE OF SPADES 2014 AWARD TOUR: TALES FROM THE ROAD - Day 84 - TopicsExpress

THE DEUCE OF SPADES 2014 AWARD TOUR: TALES FROM THE ROAD - Day 84 - RED CARPET FEVER... Its 6PM and the theater is packed. Red carpet, reporters, photographers, and movie goers, all there for the film festival and for my film ... My fans Gail and Judy gave me a ride from Lake Havasu and I immediately jump behind my signing table... By 7:10PM people are still talking to me but I have to sneak away to try to get my pic on the red carpet... Meanwhile I notice that someone removed the stanchions from the side of my Deuce and some dudes are literally leaning against it to snap pics of themselves. SAY WHAT????? Obviously, these are film people, NOT car people. I fly to the rescue... Huh, excuse me!!! You cant lean on the roadster... I mean... Seriously??? Meanwhile I almost miss my interview opportunity cause I now have to rush inside the theater to introduce my film. The place is nicely packed. Lights dim down and film begins... I always love to see DEUCE OF SPADES on the big screen, when the actors and cars literally TOWER over you... And it looks soooo good on that big screen.... Meanwhile my non car audience seems VERY engaged in the film. To my surprise, they are actually even MORE engaged than my car people audiences. They are laughing more and at more of the funny moments, and whispering to each other at some of the other key moments, such as Peggie in the dinner telling Johnny NO when he asks her: Did she say anything else?... In deed they are getting it... They are getting it big time. A nice round of applause at the end and a short Q&A session later, we all rush outside, for some more DVD signing. Other filmmakers are complimenting me on the film. To get accolades from your piers is always a great feeling. Its now 1AM and I am dreading what comes next. We have to push the Deuce back out the mall and I have to drive it all the way back to Lake Havasu, bad tires and all, and I have been up since 4AM. I am REALLY TIRED. Luckily the lack of windshield and cold air should keep me awake... Or so we hope... Gail was sweet and followed me all the way home. Uneventful drive, the Deuce behaved . Thank God cause the last thing I needed was a break down. Its now 2:30AM and have to wake up at 6AM to be at the car show by 7:30AM for yet another LOOONG day... ... Oye... Thats gonna hurt.
