THE DIARY OF PINK PEARL: KISS KISS, AMERICA! PHATTY PHOODS Copyrights by Jes Fuhrmann, 2013 All rights reserved “Now, where was I?” Honey exhales as she peers at the small, black characters on the bright screen. “I was born a small, black child…” I snicker as she attempts to regain focus. “I enjoy long, peaceful walks under the full moon next to the ocean swells of the Pacific Ocean.” I continue, resting before a snack plate of pastry, peanut butter, cheddar cheese, melon, carrot slices, breadsticks and a turkey, cheese and egg wrap. “I like men. Not all men...” I continue as I debate my choices. “Preferably nice men with pure, white hair to match the silky down beneath my wings.” I wink, tasting a bit of the fatty foods before moving onto my second course. “White hair?” Professor Harvard giggles, fluttering up to the top shelf of the man cave. “Kind of demanding, aren’t you?” Thumper sniffs, rising up on his hind quarters as he observes behind the short, white gate. “What’s wrong with blue hair?” Ethel frowns, holding her wings up high as Fred flies down from the chair to sip a little water and steal a slice of cheese from my plate. “Delicious!” he snorts, indulging in the fatty treat. “I thought fatty foods were bad for parrots?” Daddy questions, looking up after making a few comments on the white paper. “I did not say that!” the words read as I study them from the desk. “You did now!” I giggle as Honey turns around to face him. “It’s winter time, my love.” she gently explains, “They’re eating fatty foods right now to stay warm.” she adds, standing up to briefly leave. “Oh my God!” Ethel gasps, glancing nervously about as the shallow water dish. “Did she?...” she hesitates as Daddy returns to reading the printed manuscript. “Quick! Call Michael Cox! He’ll save us!” she shudders as Fred glances up with concern. “What?!” Fred exclaims, joining her woes as they begin to dart nervously about the room. “I’m c-c-c-cold!” she shivers, flying over to the lampshade upon his desk. “Is that better, my darling?” Fred asks, flying over to join her as Daddy furrows his brow with disgust. “No! NO!” he argues as they warm themselves on the lampshade. “Kurt?” Honey asks, returning with a clear bottle full of fresh, clean water to replenish the blue, porcelain dish beside her. “Save us!” Fred begs, flying over to her big, square pocket to seek refuge.
