THE DOXA DEVOTIONAL WEDNESDAY MARCH 12 DONT SELL YOUR INHERITANCE 1 Kings 21:2 And Ahab spake unto Naboth, saying, Give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near unto my house: and I will give thee for it a better vineyard than it; or, if it seem good to thee, I will give thee the worth of it in money. 21:3 And Naboth said to Ahab, The LORD forbid it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee. Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard in Jezreel closer to the Palace of Ahab the King Of Samaria. Ahab had need of the vineyard for a garden to grow herbs. But Naboth refused to take neither money for the vineyard nor a replacement, because to him it was an inheritance from his fathers and it seemed precious. He knew the worth of that vineyard. That vineyard had been in the house of Naboth longer than long to be given out in a day. Imagine how Naboth had to work to keep the vineyard in a good shape, the things he had to purchase for all that. Yes he would have been paid even better but the vineyard meant much to him than the little the King wanted to give. Beloved, that vineyard could be likened to Jesus as He rightfully said, I am the True Vine(john 15:1). Imagine how you built a relationship with Jesus who is your Inheritance. Imagine the things you had to forfeit to keep your relationship in shape. Is there a replacement for Him? Can any amount Purchase Him? Are you going to sell your Inheritance?
