THE DUALERS BIO The Dualers are Britain’s much loved Ska and Reggae band from the South of England who have steadily built up a following of many thousands of truly dedicated fans across all ages and have sold out at the Indigo O2 in London a record breaking 4 times within 18 months. In 2004, the brothers, Simon and Tyber, together with their band released their first single ‘Kiss On The Lips’. It entered the UK singles charts at number 21, selling 14,000 copies and out-selling chart heavyweights Scissor Sisters and Girls Aloud in its first week. Their second single ‘Truly Madly Deeply’ was another chart success, entering at number 23 in November 2005 and the song was subsequently featured on the ‘Fools Gold’ soundtrack of the film starring Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson. Increased media interest saw The Dualers appearing on UK television – GMTV, This Morning, Sky News and Channel 5 News. The third chart single in 2006 “Don’t Go” was followed by release of their debut album ‘The Melting Pot’ and helped establish The Dualers as one of the most respected names on the UK Ska and Reggae scene. They performed with headline acts including Toots & The Maytals, Jimmy Cliff, Prince Buster, Madness, Aswad and UB40. Their second album ‘The Cooking Pot’ was released in December 2009 and sold out its first pressing within a month. Simon left the band at the end of 2010 to pursue a solo career, and with Tyber continuing to front The Dualers they won the coveted 2 Tone Central Award for Best Band at the SKAbour Weekend Festival in Folkestone, where they headlined on the Saturday night at the Quarterhouse. In August 2012 they were invited back to headline the festival and they are also due to perform there again in 2013. The Dualers are currently in the studio recording their third self-penned album due for release in the summer of 2013. This follows the “With Respect” album, released in December 2011 and the “Prince Buster Shakedown” album produced for the International Ska Festival 2012. The band continues to perform on a regular basis to fans from all over the world, and have recently returned to the Indigo at the O2 for a 5th show in June 2012
