“THE EAGLE SPEAKS for ME” I created the “THE EAGLE SPEAKS for ME” as my capstone piece in Video/ Editing Class (at Meramec STLCC) with Tony Carosella. This is a statement from an artistic viewpoint, in expectation of causing communications along with educating to establish awareness. The sources where I obtained my information and photo visuals are in the end credits, (part 4) as a resource for every viewer. Using my Photoshop, Illustrator, and Corel Painter working knowledge, abilities in addition to I-Movie, I-Work, Keynote and Quick Time composed and created “THE EAGLE SPEAKS for ME”. Artists no matter what their specialized area of art or the creative process when making a statement visual that will communicate a message that can and does influence mass populations they must be responsible without being sterile, so it does not loose its creative point and or the message. I researched, rechecked all gathered information and its source there of. Propaganda and conspiracy must be filtered out, in order to accomplish this goal. I gathered a minimum of 32 g.b’s of documental information along with 22g.b’s or more of visual information. Using one of my photos (Uncle SAM Balloon blow up) I took into Photoshop, the American Flag I created in Coral Painter. I investigated all of my resources of the printed word and the writer. The integrity of each writer and professional standings where referenced so I knew that his or her personal judgment or belief was not involved. The photos where edited down and positioned together for long-term and overall aim placed in a strategically manner to make a point. That would and does create questioning and a curious mind to anyone who would view “THE EAGLE SPEAKS for ME”. I use symbolism in many forms in all of my work. In this piece, I used two of our National Symbols to evoke and arouse any viewer. The eagle photos, the gesturing and body language of the eagle I used to represent myself. My reaction to every tic and move by the Bush – Cheney Administration that I have watched from January 1, 2001 when my suspicions where aroused, and then my attention was completely focused. My visual of our country’s flag, I created in Corel Painter is the representation of all Americans. The effects used with the flag are my way of communicating a symbolic gesturing about our flag. What is happening to our flag by way of its meaning the history behind it and all that our nation represents to the world and us. The music I selected is to be theoretical in correspondence to the visuals and is my way of communicating in what most would call an abstract form of communication.
