THE EHUGBOS AND THE AFIKPOS When I stumbled on this forum I felt relieved that I have discovered the right channel to carry my message. No matter how hard we pretend, there are times in our lives that we must call a spade a spade, let us discuss the Afikpos and the Ehugbos. The Ehugbos believes they are more superior, smarter and more intelligent. Ehugbo man always wants to be ahead of Edda man, Amasiri, Akpoha, Ozizza and Unwana with little or no regard to what goes on in our minds when they treat us as second class citizens or maybe we are ordinarily afraid to stand up to the Ehugbos? There exists no mutual understanding between us unless Ehugbo man wants something from you and these have pushed us to the angle of consciousness and activeness when dealing with the Ehugbos. Ehugbo only thinks Ehugbo! The attempt to reason along earned us Edda Amagi ife mari agugo. We always feel cheated around the Ehugbos and have you asked why? Yes because we have actually been cheated on several occasions dealing with them. Even when we sincerely wish to blend with them they will end up talking down on us. This is a political period and if we must achieve our gubernatorial ambition already on our court, we must act and talk as the Afikpos because Ehugbo makes us see things one-sided. Let an Amasiri man tell you his true belief on Ehugbo. Ask Unwana man, find out from Akpoha man, Ibiinko? The response can hardly be positive. But this time let us keep aside sentiment and face the fact, we have all been conquered and marginalized until this period because the Ehugbos sold us all out to Abakaliki for individual interests. Elechi have given us the opportunity to recuperate and right our wrongs but the Ehugbos had their shot but passed it on without considering any of us. Now we are telling you categorically that our interest must be fully considered if you must have our support at least we have more wards/constituencies to start with. This is no threat but something to hold unto besides some of my friends from Amasiri are of the opinion that nothing good can come out from Ehugbo having been denied virtually every political post even the chairmanship for years. Ehugbo has so many broken walls with so many amendments to make. Politically Ehugbo is surrounded by so many Ehugbo-made enemies due to their individualistic nature. Ehugbo must work hard to get Unwana on her side. Our house has always been together and we can beat Ehugbo to any political challenge, I mean no disrespect but this is a food for thought for the wise ones. Ehugboism must wait if Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu is to emerge the governor of Ebonyi State although many believe that Ehugbo will practically overrun Ebonyi State especially our Abakaliki counterparts. Community based mentality is everywhere but can lead to political isolation which can be disadvantageous politically and i want to tell you that Prof. will lose if proper electioneering is done but not as an individual but as Ehugbo man although we are solidly behind him and we must see a reason to, not Ehugbo reason but Afikpo reason!
