THE END OF GYARU Famed Shibuya style fashion magazine Egg will publish its last magazine on May 31. This reflects a trend we have seen for a while now. Men’s Egg stopped publishing last October, Edge Style followed in February. Soon after Koakuma Agega hit the dust. Left are Popteen and Ranzuki, but they are struggling as well. I noticed already a few years ago that Gyaru were fading from the scene. They used to be so common it was impossible to imagine theyd ever disappear. But they faded like a falling star, so quick you could see it happening before your eyes. JAPANESE STREETS has never really followed Gyaru fashion, but how do you feel about the death of this glamorous fashion style?
