THE ENERGY (POWER) OF GOD. “And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.”(EPHESIANS 1:19) Energy has been defined as the ability to do work or to cause an action to happen. Power, which is sometimes used to replace energy, is more simplistic, it is the ability to do or act; capability of doing or accomplishing something. On the other hand POWER is defined as political or national strength. It has also been explained as the great or marked ability to do or act; strength; might; force. The possession of control or command over others; authority; ascendancy are all words used to describe POWER. Beloved, the Greek root word of Power is “DUNAMIS” which means strength, authority, might, force and ascendancy. The power of God in other which means the strength, might, force authority, ascendancy that emanate from GOD. “And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward who believe……….”Eph 1:19-20. Scripture says this power (force) of God raised Jesus Christ form the dead. The force (power) of God is active still causing situations to change, miracles to happen. We can say, someone has power when the person has the ability or capability to do or act; strength; might; force. This force (power) was bestowed on the believer immediately a person genuinely accepts Jesus Christ as the Lord of his/her life. And allow the infilling of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the carrier of this power we are talking about. Beloved, look at the work of this Power in the life of Enoch, “and Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.”Gen. 5:24. In verse 22, it said, Enoch walked with God for three Hundred years. Wow! Bible says he was 65 years when he had begotten Methuselah then he start his walk with God. Thus, he got the right to walk with Yahweh. This is awesome. The power (audacity) was given him from above. This is to say that, when a mankind decides to walk with God, like Enoch did, power is given him which makes anything possible in his/her life. I admonish, you give your life to Christ and commence your walk with Him to qualify you for this great force, strength, ascendancy that originate from Him (God). In the Acts of the Apostles chapter 1 verse 8, its reads, “But you shall receive power (dunamis) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you…” See, at the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1 -5) the Holy Spirit came and has never returned back. He (Holy Spirit) is still active in His work and efficient as well. What is the benefit of this power to the Believer? The power which is described as dynamite energizes the believer. It gives the believer power to effect changes. It enables the believer to witness Christ. To be candid, it gives ability to the believer. But the believer must add response to this ability and thus, responsibility. Once you are blessed with the power of God, you are segregated from the worldly desires and its passion. May the Holy Spirit minister to you as you mutter pensively on this word. May your mental faculty receive spiritual revival and fondness for the word of God. ALLELUIA!!! PRAYER. Dear Heavenly Father, I worship you for who you are. I crave for your power (force, strength, ascendancy and might, authority) to resist what is ungodly. To live an acceptable life worthy of applause. Let your power pull me out of destruction to redemption. Thank you for this revelation of your power. In Jesus’ name.
