THE EVENING WAS MORE THAN HECTIC. I had to leave he house by 7pm - TopicsExpress

THE EVENING WAS MORE THAN HECTIC. I had to leave he house by 7pm to catch the 9pm boat, but by 6:30, I had not even changed. I had been sitting at the computer answering as many PMs as I could, hoping to answer all of them. It was futile. By 6:40, I accepted defeat and finally logged out. Then I realized I had to move my wallet and 2 big cellphones and small notebook and sunglasses and reading glasses to my already bulging computer backpack. I tried to dump them in, but they would not fit - mainly because I was frantic. Rolly took over. Go change, he said. I will take care of this. And so I went upstairs. When I came back down, my backpack was set. He had managed to arrange all of my things into it, and had even remembered to add a roll of toilet paper, my ipod and his earphones. I packed you dinner, he said, showing me a white plastic bag. He drove me to the pier, and I did get to the boat on time. As I set my things down, I realized I was indeed hungry. I opened the dinner that Rolly had packed for me, and there was ngohiong and sauce, fried eggs, atchara, puso, banana fruits, and fried bananas - things that I have always loved to eat. When I was a little girl growing up, I envisioned myself getting married and taking care of my husband, packing his bag when he goes on trips, and packing him dinner so he does not get hungry. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that one day I would marry a man who would lovingly do all of those things for me without expecting anything in return. On the way to the pier, Rolly told me that I am the love of his life. And I actually believe that. - Rex Ono
