THE EXCLUSIVE CANCER CLUB, one where you do not want to be a member. You never think it will be your family when you hear about someone struck with cancer. You feel for them, but have no idea what its really like. Then you suddenly become a member. The membership is long, and the dues become more costly on your entire being, as you watch someone you love with all of your heart, be taken, little by little, like a snowball of poison running through their body, that picks up momentum. Then its out of control, destroying everything in its path. You see it coming, but never imagined how quickly it accelerates. First its just a tumor, then just a little radiation to do the trick, then chemo, then more radiation, and more radiation. The side effects kill the good stuff...then phnemonia, then anemia, the pain killers, then the heart attacks... I am sending empathy to all that have to go through this rancid, wrenching disease. (P.S. For those of you who have inquired about my Mom....she is hanging in there in ICU. Your concern is appreciated.)
