THE EYES CANNOT SAY TO THE HAND, I HAVE NO NEED OF THEE... 6 TEXT: GALATIANS 2:1-2 Then fourteen years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also./And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain. Amongst the believers in Jerusalem during the time of Paul, were Jews who still honoured the law of Moses and were not clear about the abolishment of the law of Moses by the sacrifice of Christ. Some of them still went to the temple and still kept the Sabbath days. There we had the mixture of Judaism and Christianity. In Acts 3, we saw peter and John going into the temple to observe the Jews hour of prayer. Also in Acts 15, when the matter of circumcision came up to the apostles and elders, one expected them to just give answer immediately, but they had to argue before the matter was settled. These show that the gospel as seen by Paul was not in symphony with the other elders and apostles. Pauls perception of the gospel was wider and deeper. So Paul needed to come clear off the doubt that hung over his doctrines and teachings...what he preached was so radical that the average Jews might naturally hate him. Doubt were built around what Paul was preaching. His gospel was doubtful in the minds of the Jews yet it was the truth of the God of their fathers. Paul did not arrogantly continue this way. He deemed it fit that some explanations needed to be done to the brethren amongst the Jews. If we believe in the body of Christ, we would do every thing within our power to humbly explain ourselves where needed than to boastful tell the church of God that we do not care what anybodys feeling is. What brother A sees, in the spirit of oneness, brother B should not be left in doubt about it. So if a man believes he has no personal agenda, he should feel free to submit his sermon notes for scrutiny. If indeed we have nothing to hide or prove then let us be at liberty to give room to others for proper evaluation of the contents of our teachings. Many ministers are so locked up within themselves in the name of special anointing. God would have each and every one of us accountable to his body. I see in Paul a genuine steward of Gods grace. His teachings were not his but Gods so he opened them up to whosoever cared. He allowed God to fight for His word. But if a man is secretive and careless about clearing doubt about his sermon, then we can safely conclude that there is a hidden agenda. Beloved, we need to compare notes. The spirit of error is all over bringing damnable heresy crafty into the fold...and any of us can be the conduit if care is not taken. May God tell us again and again, that we know in part...and can thereby prophesy in part. To be continued.
